Cleveland Police are seeking an experienced and professional individual to fulfil the role of Data Protection Officer.  This is a key role which leads and manages on the Force’s Information Management functions including Data Protection and Information Rights.

 

If you have a demonstrable track record in data privacy with a strong knowledge of GDPR and the Law Enforcement Directive, along with experience of interpreting legislation and leading on incident management responses in relation to data protection, this could be the role for you.

 

You will ensure that the Force is complaint with all relevant legislation in relation to the Data Protection Act 2018.  In addition, you will be responsible for Force compliancy on Management of Police Information (MOPI) and College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice (APP) on Information Management.  This will include MOPI, Information sharing, Freedom of Information, Data Protection and Information Assurance.

 

You will be a Force expert providing professional and technical advice, acting independently and without influence in your decision making, being directly accountable to the Chief Constable as Data Controller.

 

We are seeking candidates who are adept communicators whilst also being motivated and assertive.  This is an important business area where the right candidate can ensure that the Force excels in implementing the correct strategies in relation to Data Protection.
