Position Title: Deputy Head of Legal Services
Location - Cleveland Police Headquarters (due to move to Middlesbrough Police Station)

Salary - PO15 (£44,454 - £47,442)

Hours - Full Time
Contract - Permanent 

Applications are invited for the position of Deputy Head of Legal Services within Legal Services based at Cleveland Police Headquarters initially but due to move to Middlesbrough Police Station

Principal Duties and responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in house within the Cleveland Police Legal Services Legal Team and also within the wider collaborated Evolve Legal Services with Cleveland, Durham and North Yorkshire Police Forces. We are looking for a suitably qualified solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive who has particular experience of contract, commercial and property law including drafting contracts, leases and licences. You will work as part of a team providing professional legal advice as required on legal matters. You will also act as ‘Practice Manger’ in relation to casework allocation, workloads of lawyers, assessing risks and ensuring business continuity.

To be successful at this role you must have proven experience of contract, commercial and property law. The role will require flexibility to provide assistance in other areas of police law. Due to the collaboration you will be required to work in the Cleveland, Durham and North Yorkshire Police areas as and when the need arises. Flexibility to travel between forces is essential.
